THANKS SAM!
Well, here I go. Hopefully I have something interesting to say because sadly it's been some time since we spoke. You will let me know if I should have remained in absentia.
Last weekend I found myself at Birch Bay once again playing the roles of beloved beautiful Grandma and simultaneously the mucho-irritating passive aggressive aged mother.
Some very funny things happened. Sam stirred my tequila on the rocks with the TV remote and then later delightfully dabbled his cars in the bidet. Harry, the Yorkshire Terrier greatly suffered a three day long "I'm Lost Without You Mike Pity Party" complete with a steaming pile of diarrhea on my new bathroom rug. Of course we can't forget the tender moment that occurred after this comment I made to Jennifer...."I am so grateful that you girls chose to spend this weekend with me. I feel so lucky to have this time together." Her reply to me was simply..."Well actually, Mom, we've brought you here to kill you...."
My grandson, Sam is only 20 months old but he can already make the f sound. And the b, d, h, m, o, s, w, and x if my memory serves me correctly. Can you say the "x" sound? Exactly! That's my point! Sam is gifted. This means he "is a child who performs at or shows the potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment, and who exhibits high performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area; possesses an unusual capacity for leadership; or excels in a specific academic field." Got it? Good. Giftedness runs in our family. Of course so does diarrhea, but just on the dog's side.
Cooking this weekend was so easy. Jen has eased up on her Vegan Vigilantism and this made for an easy time of kitchen cuisine. I must say I was so proud at how quickly my grandson was able to slam back the Prem and Velveeta sandwich I fed him for lunch. Jen, Jen...... JEN!!!
Just kiddin'.
Sam makes me feel like a million bucks. (US funds naturally.) Even though he sat on my flat of petunias, pooped in my bathtub and rubbed his snotty nose on a multitude of my personal belongings, he is the reason for me to be.
I loved every minute of the weekend. Thank you, Sam. I love you. Please come again.

I am counting the days until this weekend when I see Sam for 3 days! I am sure that I will have lots to report at the end of our visit as I understand Sam is not only talking up a storm, he is also reading letters, assembling trains and ending world hunger.
Stay tuned. Until then, enjoy Grandma's new favorite music above.
Note **** The West Coast loves you, Shelley!!!
