Another beautiful day...
My dear friends Angela and Raimund are here to visit. They live in a small village in Tuscany called Vinci - yes, named for Leonardo who was born there. They have a small vineyard, make their own wine, harvest olives to make their own oil from their grove of trees and they are simply the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. They are also very much in demand as tour guides so if you find yourself in Italy any time soon...you won't find anyone more knowledgeable or kind.
Thank you Devin and your bear friends, Grinder and Koola for the hospitality and Tara for stopping by the canyon on your way home from work. It was a terrific day.

September
September has arrived and as is so common, Vancouver finally has found summer. But activities are revving up again after a brief but well needed hiatus from committments and routines.
What is coming up?
I am in two book clubs. Next week the co-ed group will be discussing "Room" by Emma Donoghue. The following week the all girls group which is incidentally going into our 11th year together will start off the season with "Secret Daughter" by Shilpi Somaya Gowda. FYI - I gave Room an 8.5 and the latter an 8.This is the only photo you will ever see of me smiling with my braces. They are finally coming off on
SEPTEMBER 14TH!!!
...after 2 1/2 years. What was I thinking at my age?
I have been called for Jury Duty on the 19th and so hope I don't get selected for fear the trial runs into my time away with Barbie in New York. Fingers crossed although it would be so interesting.
I am still enjoying my new camera so much and every chance I get I am trying out new shots and new situations. This is a photo of my pathetic attempt at floral arranging. Not my forte for sure. Of course I copied someone!
Bob is having a home visit in September by a well known local Dog Behavior Specialist as he is dealing with some "issues" that need some attention. We hope it helps and we are willing to do the work necessary.
I am back at work full time for 3 weeks and it has been a pleasure. Such terrific people and some money in my pocket!

But the best part of September for me will be next weekend when the family gets together at Birch Bay to celebrate and honor Tara on her 30th birthday! Can't wait to see everyone.
