A LETTER TO THE BABY

Dear baby,

You have not yet been born although the time is getting close. Friends and family are anxiously waiting to welcome you into the world. They have been following your progress for the past nine months with avid interest and now they are finally getting near to the day when they will meet you face to face. This includes your loving grandparents, aunties and uncles and a sweet little cousin who will one day be your playmate. You are lucky to have many great-grandparents from whom you will learn more than a few life lessons.

Your daddy is going to be a wonderful daddy. He likes to play, he loves to cuddle and he will teach you the importance of being kind. I know he will do the best he can to show you by example, how to live with integrity. Your daddy will talk to you about life, he will teach you how to be gentle with animals and he will be "the" one to take you fishing for the very first time. When you are older, your dad will be there to help and guide you through troubled times.Your mommie told me months ago that she loved you more than anything she could have ever imagined. She has made sure that you have had every opportunity to grow healthy and strong and over the past several months your mommie has worked hard at learning ways to be the best mommie she can be for you. Lucky for you, your mommie has made a home that is warm and cheerful and your daddy will tell you that she is the best cook in town. I knew your mommie when she was "my baby" and although she is no longer a baby, she will always be my beautiful miracle, a precious gift and the person who has taught me more about appreciating family and living and loving life for today than anyone I have ever known.

You were made with love. Your daddy and mommie have wanted you so much since the first moment they hoped you were on your way. It will be both your parents who will show you the way to respect and honor the people in your life who matter most.They have both worked so hard to do everything to provide you with a family environment in which you will grow strong and healthy, knowing that you are loved forever more.
